Bites & Bonds 2025 – Innovation meets Collaboration

Ecosystem networking by Bosch Business Innovations

Welcome to Bites & Bonds 2025 presentation slide

The world is evolving, and it is more crucial than ever to address the pressing social and economic challenges that affect us all. At Bosch Business Innovations, we believe the best way to overcome these hurdles is through collaboration, leveraging groundbreaking technologies and disruptive ideas.

With this in mind, industry leaders, pioneering start-ups and key innovators came together on February 25, 2025, for Bites & Bonds, an ecosystem networking event hosted by Bosch Business Innovations and supported by aws and Roland Berger. The event convened around 100 visionaries from Berlin, the UK, Italy, and other parts of the world at the Bosch IT Campus in Feuerbach, Germany, to explore and rethink the evolving landscape of software-defined manufacturing.

Setting the stage for strong partnerships

Axel Deniz, CEO of Bosch Business Innovations, opened the event with an inspiring and interactive welcome speech, setting the tone for an evening filled with new industry insights and a strong emphasis on purposeful collaboration and co-innovation. “This is a bold vision, and we are here to make it happen. We have reached a point where no single company can solve the most difficult problems alone. Bosch is now open to innovation,” he explained.

Inspirational bites: exploring the future of manufacturing

The event transitioned into a series of high-impact presentations from distinguished speakers, who shared their expertise on industrial digital twins, cloud computing in manufacturing, and AI-driven automation. These thought-provoking sessions served as a prelude to the event and offered attendees a glimpse into the future of software-defined manufacturing and smart industrial solutions. Prahallad CR, Head of Technology at Bosch Digital Twin Industries, emphasized the need for a system which can seamlessly integrate human and machine intelligence. His talk provided valuable insights how such streamlining can revolutionize manufacturing processes leading to reduced downtime and costs in factories and by extension protecting operating employees.

AWS’ inspirational bite perfectly aligned with Bosch Digital Twin Industries’ context of bringing together sensor, software, and service innovations. Buddha Chakraborty, Principal Manufacturing Business Development at AWS Germany, elaborated the question of how data should be used to improve software-defined manufacturing. He presented defined approaches on the democratization of manufacturing data and highlighted the landscape of open opportunities to better support the factories of the future, including GenAI solutions. Buddha also drew a unique connection between smart data and the rock’n’roll music genre to illustrate the dynamics of data utilization.

Another important aspect was shed light on in Jonas Zinn's talk: Roland Berger’s Principal discussed the concept of the “lights-out factory” where increased automation compensates for the decreasing workforce in industrialized countries. He pointed out significant gaps, particularly in assembly and back-office operations. Furthermore, Jonas emphasized that data access in the back office remains a challenge and should be a clear priority. His insights underscored the importance of addressing these white spaces to fully realize the potential of automated manufacturing. These presentations collectively underscored the importance of innovation, collaboration, and the strategic use of data in shaping the future of manufacturing.
